Why it's in the Cabin

This is a copy first English edition of one of Colette's most important works. It's an insightful, empathetic look at a love triangle, which focuses on the experiences of the wife and "the other woman". An example of Colette's mature undertaking of difficult and taboo topics.

Author

Colette

Colette's early literary success came with the Claudine novels, initially ghostwritten under her first husband "Willy's" name. She was extremely prolific, writing over 50 works including the famous Chéri and Gigi,  and was characterised by precise language, keen observation, and a distinct autobiographical flavour. We enjoy her sensual and insightful explorations of love, sexuality, and the female experience.
