Green cloth binding is square and tight, with some minor shelfwear, plus ends of spine scuffed and slightly bumped. Dust jacket is fairly toned all around, specially at spine. Small dark stain on cover, plus some tiny chips at the top edge of jacket, and on hinge of backcover.

She had an open marriage! She had long held sexual and romantic friendship with another woman! At the same time, she upheld many troubling views from her social class. She was in many ways a woman of her time. We find her literary talent and emotional depth undeniable.
