A prolific English novelist, poet, journalist, and renowned garden designer, often remembered for her close relationship with Virginia Woolf, who was famously inspired by her when writing Orlando. Born into the aristocratic Sackville family at Knole House, her deep connection to her ancestral home—which she was unable to inherit as a woman—profoundly shaped her literary concerns and contributed to her distinctive perspective on class, privilege, and gender.
